Warp Speed

Boo has a tendancy to start things a bit on the late side...but then go at it with full force. When he was 9 months old, he stood up and started cruising the furniture. I said smugly to my husband, "He's going to be an early walker." He started walking. 6 months later. 6. But you know what? He never fell, tripped, stumbled. Ever.

So. Here's what this is about: his drawing. Or lack therof. Honestly, up until he was a full 5 years old, that boy did NOT draw. Yes, he finger painted, and he might scribble a crayon, but he did not draw a THING until he was 5 - a handful of things. Then, at 5-1/2, he started drawing, and drawing and drawing, and hasn't stopped yet, 6 months later. He goes through reams and reams of paper. It's like watching one of those flip-cards where you can make the stick figure run faster and faster? I will walk into his room where he is drawing, and literally, his entire floor is covered with sheets of paper.

Here is one of his first significant drawings, of "The Hospital Where Jesus Was Born" done in December:

This is "Mary and Joseph," from the same time, no bodies, no arms:

Here are a couple of pictures from April, just 5 months later:
Notice now the people have bodies, arms and legs:

Here is a hospital:

Here's a hotel from April:

It's like he's making up for lost time. At warp speed.
